The STCID - Institute of Design
The Steinbeis Transfer Center for Industrial Design was founded in 1993 by Prof. George Burden MSc. launched in University Park Schwäbisch Gmünd.
This spin-off of the Steinbeis Transfer Center for Technical Advisory Service at the College of Design was required to carry out an international training program from 1993 to 1996 in cooperation with the Carl Duisberg Society and the University of Maryland. In addition, various workshops, internships and industrial projects were held.
From 1999 to the Steinbeis Transfer Center for Industrial Design was developed jointly by Prof. George Burden MSc. and Dipl.-Designer Frank Steffens passed. The end of 2001 left Prof. George Burden Institute and handed over the management.
That same year, a move to Fellbach took place before the gates of Stuttgart. Since 2002, the STZID was based here in its own premises in the industrial area Fellbach / Oeffingen near Stuttgart.
Again, the end of 2015 changed the STZID its location and moved more to the center of Germany - to Hesse. Here near the financial center of Frankfurt, the STZID is now in the Hochtaunus, is home to a historic site near the Saalburg at the Roman Limes in Wehrheim.
At Stuttgart, the STCID remains with a studio represented, which requests and projects, especially from the region of Baden-Württemberg and the border region continue to be served.
